Every job starts with a phone call. We ask what you are planning, what you have seen that you like, and what you want to change. Then we come out to your property and walk through the space with you. We look at the framing, the existing drywall, the floor structure, and where the utilities run. We talk about what you want to do and what it will take to do it right. Before we give you a quote, we tell you what we will do, what we will not do, and what we need from you. The quote is plain and itemized, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
For drywall, we hang board with the right screw spacing and seams that are properly filled and feathered. We use setting-type compound for the first coats because it does not shrink, and we sand between coats until the surface is flat. For texture, we match the existing pattern or apply a fresh one that suits the room. For tile, we check the subfloor for deflection, use the correct backer board, and set tile with thin-set that has the right flexibility for the substrate. We pay attention to the details that keep a wall from cracking or a floor from popping years later.
Renovation work done properly
When we work in your home, we treat it like our own. We lay down protection over floors and furniture before we start. We tape off doorways and vents to keep dust from spreading. We set up a clean path to the work area and keep the rest of the house closed off. We are careful with your driveway and your landscaping when we carry materials in. We work during reasonable hours and keep the noise down as much as the work allows. At the end of each day, we haul out the debris, sweep up the dust, and leave the space tidy. When the job is done, you can walk through without stepping over anything.

After the work is finished, you still have questions. The person who answers the phone is the same crew that did the job, not a call center. We come back if something is not right, and we talk you through how to care for the new walls or floors. We think of the people we work for as neighbors, because in a town like Springfield, they usually are. We want you to be able to say that the job went well, that the crew was easy to have around, and that the work will still look good in ten years. That is how we measure a job.
